Mamma's favourite playground and cafe combos

Mamma loves taking the kids to the park. Mamma also loves a visit to the cafe, even if it just a takeaway. So when we find a cafe and playground combination - that golden delight that is an eatery within walking distance (for little legs) of the park … well … we call that a JACKPOT!
Here are some of Mamma’s favourite perfect pairs!

Glen Park Playground and Cafe on the Park, Bayswater North

Cafe on the Park sits right next to Glen Park Playground and is perfect to grab some take away and sit at the park. We usually have a play at the park then head to the cafe afterwards.

Puffing Billy Park and Playground and Emerald Village Bakery and Cafe, Emerald

You can’t visit Emerald without stopping at the Puffing Billy Park and Playground or dropping into the Emerald Village Bakery and Cafe for a treat!

Conservatory Cafe and Wyreena Playspace, Croydon

Maroondah families LOVE this beautiful leafy playground and Mamma does too. Wyreena is a community centre with this award winning playground AND a cafe overlooking the whole thing.

Briquettes Coffee Shop and Victoria Park, Kew

This could just be the smallest cafe in all of Melbourne. Briquettes Coffee is within walking distance to Victoria Park Playground.

Last Piece Eatery and Waverley Park Playground, Mulgrave

The Waverley Park area is now a residential area with the footy oval in the centre. Once you have had you’re meal at The Last Piece Eatery, drive (or possibly enjoy a long walk) to the HUGE playground by the lake for a big run around!

Blackburn Lake Sanctuary and Miss Lucy, Blackburn

Thank goodness Miss Lucy is here. She is right over the road from Blackburn Lake Sanctuary Playground. This makes the park Mammas very happy!

Marie Wallace Train Park and Drom, Bayswater

The Train Park is such an iconic playground in the east and has something for everyone. Drom, is within walking distance on Bayswater Rd and will have all your park snacks sorted.

wonguim wilam and Arthurs Creek Coffee Co, Warrandyte

Warrandyte is such a beautiful leafy town, right beside the water and great for family exploring. Grab a coffee from Arthurs Creek Coffee Co then head over to the playground, before a walk along the Yarra.

Cubbyhouse Canteen and Union Street Playground, Armadale

When Mamma thinks of cafe and playground match ups, Cubbyhouse Canteen and the Union Street Playground is a match made in heaven.

Gembrook Leisure Park and Spencer’s Store, Gembrook

The Gembrook Leisure Park is a stunning regional playspace, with something for everyone. Once they have played their little hearts out … it might be time to refuel and Mamma just loves the cute cafe that is Spencer’s Store.

Country Heart Cafe and Hookey Park, Mooroolbark

This cafe is the sweetest and has the best view of Mooroolbark station. Plus it is walking distance to the library AND Hookey Park.

Mont Albert North Reserve and Matilda, Mont Albert North

Have you ever seen a playground that has its own running track? You will find one at Mont Albert North Reserve. Best bit, if you cross the oval and down the cute little side street, you’ll find Matilda - perfect place for Mamma to get coffee and get her heart racing.

Posie Project and Montrose Community Playground, Montrose

What would make Montrose Community Playground just that little bit better? A little cafe and gift shop that you can walk to!

Primary and Pioneers Park, Berwick

It won’t surprise you that Primary, the cafe found in Berwick is the old school building. We love the food here and once snack time is over, it is time to hit the playground!

Melba Park and Harrow and Harvest, Lilydale

Mamma has loved this playground since her little one was a little dot. Having Harrow and Harvest just up the road, makes the park a great place to bring a smoothie bowl or a takeaway coffee.
