rathmines road reserve playground, hawthorn east
/Rathmines Road Reserve is a bit of a pick and mix when it comes to playground design. A little bit of sand. A dash of spinning action. A good serve of climbing fun. A drop of noisy toys. A dose of cubby house play, and all sprinkled with some family adventure. Mamma can see that there is a combination of equipment from over the years, and instead of removing all of the good stuff, they have added to it, making this playground great for a range of ages.
The climbing frames at the footy oval end of the park was a little nerve racking for the 6 year old as they are quite high and a little wobbly, while the 3 year old loved playing in the car rocker and sand digger at the other end. Perfect balance in our book.
Before everyone asks - yep - there is very limited shade. You most certainly should bring the hats, or pick a not-so-sunny time to visit.
Mamma’s special mention: Need coffee? MOB isn’t too far away!
