risky play @ risky kids, kilsyth
/Risky Play Sessions at Risky Kids is not just about risk taking- but how to take risks in a safer way. The class will teach your little ones to be more mindful of their surroundings, to assess the risk when playing- How far down could I fall from here? What could I land on?
Not only that, but it’s about problem solving- instead of just getting Mamma to provide the solution for them, the lovely ladies running the class will guide your little ones into thinking of different ways to achieve their goals before the severe frustration sets in.
The room is set up differently each with week with different areas, the class has very little structure and free play is encouraged. Mamma’s 3yr old loved balancing on the beams and practicing his spidey/ninja skills and her 4yr old loved the parkour style jumping of boxes and learning to use different parts of his body to achieve his goals.
As the name says, they are all about encouraging risky play as a natural part of growing up, supporting self determination, self discipline and learning how to to face ones fears.
Classes run weekly and you can book in casual sessions or by the term. There are plenty of other classes available for different ages.
