resource rescue, bayswater north

Mamma is going to let you in on a little secret. A secret of early years educators and teachers. Where do we get all of those arts and crafts bits and pieces? The ones that come home stuck to the back of their jumpers, collected into pockets and made into masterpieces? This is the place. Resource Rescue. The place where left over lids, containers, offcuts, and crafty goodies go for a second chance at life! The factory space is just like a eco friendly and completely sustainable supermarket of goodies ready to be repurposed into something completely different.

Imagine puppet stages made from huge cylinders and fabric, plus characters made from yoghurt tubs with lids for eyes and a button for a nose. Use a tub for mixing paint. A collection of blocks to make a building. Or grab some ribbon and make a twirling wand. There are so many things just waiting to be made. Visiting this treasure chest is an adventure in itself with shelves as high as the ceiling packed with resources. Stock turns around really quickly so you never quite know what you might get!

The business runs membership programs or you can simply purchase a garbage bag worth of goodies at the casual rate of $30. There are some items that you can only take a small amount of and others that are priced individually, but next time you feel the desire to make something, why not look for the sustainable option for your craft supplies.
