victoria street playspace at ruffey lake park, doncaster east

Looking for an awesome playground that has something for ALL of the family? Best to give this one a whirl!

The Victoria Street Playspace is the best known playground at Ruffey Lake Park and is the most popular AND in 2024, it has had a HUGE upgrade. The vibes of the old design remain, however that have been some great improvements and added features.

Set in the hill side, the playground has lots of treasures to explore. There are towers for slides, sand play (the toddlers LOVED this), a flying fox, GIANT birds nest swing, in built trampolines, rock cribbing hexagons and plenty of things to traverse and balance over.

Mamma’s big kids love how spread out this area is and the different pockets for play. They keep finding new areas to explore and may prove a little tricky keeping an eye on multiple little kids (although Mamma thinks this new design is much more open than the previous solid wooden structure)

There is heaps of gathering space for picnicking either in the grassy fields (although these are a little hilly) or undercover with the bbqs. There are two huge undercover picnic zones - great for a party!

the nitty gritty

some good shaded parts - BBQs - public toilets - flying fox - lots of stairs - sand play - walking paths nearby  - water play - water pump - expression swings

99 Victoria St, Templestowe East

Mamma's special mention: Ruffey Lake Park is a great piece of urban green space and boasts FOUR playgrounds, including a ninja park and frisbee golf!
