the range estate playground, croydon

So, you have been up since before sparrows, the toddler has already destroyed the lounge room, kitchen and their own (bedroom that you tidied the night before) and if you hear that little red monster’s voice (AKA Elmo) you might just lose it?! But of course, the library, that cafe and the indoor play centre don’t open for another hour and it will be nap time again! YOU JUST GOTTA GET OUTTA THE HOUSE! Yep - Mamma has been there! Many. Many. Many mornings! I think that is when you need the park. Fresh morning air in your lungs and a change of scenery. Nothing too fancy - a tunnel, a swing, a slide and something to bounce on. You will find just that tucked into the bottom of The Grange Estate in Croydon - the old Croydon Golf Course on Dorset Road. This modern equipment is pretty flash with a bucket swing seat that Mamma is liking a lot - especially when Bubs is trying to escape the traditional swing seats. The main equipment is toddler friendly with no large voids once they have climbed the lily pad style stairs. Nice lush wetlands (fenced off) are nearby and this place makes for a nice overall morning play. Phwew, Mamma is exhausted!

Mamma’s special mentions: New estates are always great hunting grounds for playgrounds. If you are keen to explore another one not too far away, Cloverlea Estate in Chirnside Park has a great one.

the nitty gritty
