sir zelman cowen park playground, kooyong

Mammas, Sir Zelman Cowen Park Playground (formerly Kooyong Park Playground) has had a makeover and he is looking HANDSOME.

Nestled amongst the towering trees of the reserve, it’s hard to believe it is located next to the freeway and not deep in bush land.

This fully enclosed play space has been designed to blend into its surroundings, with a lot of wood and natural materials utilised in the design of the equipment. The striking metal tower creates a focal point against the otherwise “organic” setup.

The playground isn’t huge but packs a punch, with something for all ages and interests. Mamma’s kids couldn’t get enough of the giant tower and water play area (hot tip - bring a change of clothes if the littlies are drawn to water like this 18 month old).

Some on-site parking is available but confusing to find via GPS. Mamma suggests entering via Glenferrie Road for parking closest to the playground.

the nitty gritty

picnic tables - BBQ facilities - off road parking -  toilet facilities - drinking fountain - ovals - walking tracks - fully fenced

444 Glenferrie rd, Kooyong 3144

Mamma’s special mentions: once you’ve worked up an appetite at the playground, head to Lulubelle’s a short drive down the road.
