citizens park playground, richmond
/You know you’re in Richmond when the playground is Yellow and Black…. and it’s next to be a footy oval. Citizen’s Park has just been re-done and is AMAZING! Not only is there 2 separate play spaces- one for the big kids and one for the little ones, it’s shaded by gorgeous trees, with plenty of seats all around the park- you can see the kids from anywhere.
There’s slides, balance bars, swings, monkey bars, rock climbing, ropes- EVERYTHING! The bigger structure has a massive tunnel slide for the brave ones, as well as a smaller one for those not quite ready to reach the top.
The smaller structure consists of a ramp, balance bars and double slide. There is also a lower deck with a xylophone, steering wheel and maze game that is perfect for the little little ones as there’s no climbing involved to get to it. These climbing frames are surrounded by timber decks of all shapes and sizes, some even with foot chimes and are great for both sitting back and relaxing, or some open ended play.
Kids of all ages are sure to be entertained for hours, and Mamma’s, well it is really pretty just sitting under the beautiful trees with a cuppa. The feature logs scattered around the park for both sitting and play also add to the nature feel this park has.
Mamma’s 14 month old had a ball just chasing the pigeons around, stomping on the foot chimes and climbing around the timber decks. The balance beams were a big hit with the 3 year old. Bring the pooches as the oval is also an off-leash dog park.
