baynes park, monbulk
/Feel like a park play mixed with some adventure? Baynes Park in Monbulk is just the place.
There is a lovely bright coloured playground for the little ones to climb about, afterwards head to the rotunda for one of most picturesque picnic spots in the area, before heading on an adventure along the Sassafras Creek.
The playground itself is definitely suited for little monkeys with lots of ropes and monkey bars. It is connected by bridges and balance beams, with two slides that are perfect for all ages. There is also a fireman’s pole, tic tac toe and a swing set.
Once your little ones have navigated their way around the playground, time to refuel at the rotunda with a picnic or BBQ. There is plenty of shade and seating available and is such a gorgeous spot to sit and watch your kids run around on the oval kicking the footy or chasing the birds
Hopefully there’s still some energy left and you can head on an adventure along the Sassafras Creek Trail. There is no rush, just go as fast or as slow as those little legs want to go, while Mammas, you can admire the breath taking surroundings and breathe in that beautiful fresh air.
For those that are after a more serious hike, unfortunately parts of the entire 17k track are closed due to storm damage, head to Parks Victoria for more info and updates.
