botanic by night @ wilson botanic park, berwick
/This place is beautiful during the day - and even more amazing by NIGHT! Botanic By Night is a brand new event happening in the City of Casey this winter. Spanning over two weekends, the Wilson Botanic Gardens will transform into a light spectacular.
Each night, the gardens are illuminated making the trees and park land glow in all the colours of the rainbow. There are friendly lanterns scattered in parts - perfect for some family photos. Our favourite was the turtle and the butterfly.
Then you have to check out the water. The lights dance across the lake in a stunning light display that can be seen as you circumnavigate on the path. It’s equal parts majestic and mesmerising. The smoke on the water creates this incredible cloud effect which is hard to capture on the phone - you have to see it in person.
However, the main attraction is the laser light display. This is a full change of pace in tempo as the techno beats kick in and the lights really put on a show. Moving in time with the music, the lasers show us what they can do, creating hypnotic patterns across the night sky. The show happens on the hour (6pm, 7pm and 8pm), lasts for around 10 minutes and is best seen on the amphitheater stairs or including the grass on the hillside behind.
There is no parking at the venue. There is a FREE shuttle bus service from Federation University and Berwick Train Station. There are food trucks on site for dinner or a warm after dark dessert!
