If you are after cold drip coffee, The Lilydale General is the place to do. This hip cafe is hidden in the industrial estate in the back streets of Lilydale and the locals go nuts for it. All weekend the tables and front courtyard are filled with peeps catching some rays and downing their Axil coffee behind the picket fence and the food is like nothing else! Mamma loves the all day brekkie almost as much as the burgers and the INCREDIBLE smoothies. Great for the kids as well with plenty of highchairs, change table and the enclosed courtyard. Mamma may or may not enjoy sharing a pancake from the kids menu with these little ones!
Mamma’s special mentions: Once you have finished eating, head up the road to Melba Park and have a play on the sweeping lawns or pop into the Yarra Ranges Regional Museum for some cultural delights including The Lynley Dodd Story.
