the hatter and the hare, bayswater

The Hatter and the Hare is a dessert dream right from the pages of Alice and Wonderland. The most colourful cafe in the eastern suburbs is located in Bayswater and it just like a fairytale. The gang here LOVE to celebrate all sort of occasions and the decor - both inside and out - changes each season.

The cake cabinet here is enough to have lines of eager patrons waiting at the door. Although it isn't all about sweets. There are plenty to choose from from the full menu including the Tweedledee or Tweedledum burgers, Mad Hatter’s Breakfast or Off with their Heads Corn Fritters. Or even the most incredible porridge complete with dry ice!

Add a kids menu and all is well in the world. Although space might be tight for prams, there are high chairs, cushions in case they need just a little boost and colouring pages - Cheshire cats of course! Now back to the sweets - have you seen the gloss on these babies. The signature desserts are so shiny, so sweet and oh so delicious. Bubs adored the purple Cheshire cat filled with chocolate mousse and apricot creamaux, where as Mamma fell in love with Alice - the pineapple sweety goodness.

Mamma's special mention: parking can be tight at the site itself, so don't risk it and just park at the Bayswater Hotel over the road.
