There has been all sorts of movements in Healesville this year. The biggest and most impressive has to be the brand new digs for Mamma's favourite moscato of all time - Innocent Bystander. This iconic brand is now under the ownership of Brown Brothers and has moved out of home - just next door from it's original giant steps birthplace and into the old White Rabbit space. What an impressive space it is!
This is a cellar door without the fancy wine swishing and smelling. All the wines are on tap and lined up along one of the most impressive bars in the east - not to mention the tasting vending machine! Of course there is much more than wine on offer with a brilliant pizza menu and plenty of plates for sharing. The new kids menu is perfectly balanced although I am certain they will want to try everything on your plate too. The space is big but also popular with doors opening 7 days a week. Mamma recommends calling ahead to make a booking.
Mamma's special mention: Like a tradition Cellar Door be sure to buy a bottle to take home - or one extra for me - just drop it at my place and you drive past!
Healesville is a great place for families with plenty of parks and family activities including the Roll Track, Maroondah Dam, the Railway Park or the real thing next door at the Yarra Valley Railway in Sunday's and of course - Healesville Sanctuary.
