burke's lookout, mount dandenong
/Mamma knew there had to be a great vantage point of the city and the rest of Melbourne up in the Dandenongs and we think we have found it. Heading up the mountains for some fresh air and a lovely stroll is exactly what we were after. A bonus is the spectacular views including the bay.
The walking trail, known as Keeyma Track, is on the west side of Mount Dandenong and can be accessed via the trails beginning at the TV towers off Eyre Road OR from Ospray Track near the Keeyma Memorial site (there is limited parking at both).
Mamma used her maps on her phone to help as the path snakes its way through stunning bush land filled with native birds, to Burke’s Lookout. Path is fine for prams, although you will need to carry it over the entrance gate and you’ll need to load up on the other side. There are no facilities here but great for a kid friendly bush walk.
the nitty gritty
no facilities - city views - very limited car parking (better at Ospray Track) - no dogs

Mamma's special mentions: If you like bushwalking and the great outdoors, you might just enjoy Mount Lofty and take in the views OF the Dandenongs!
