waverley park playground, mulgrave
/What a total winner! The epic playground at Waverley Park is a modern eastie favourite. Not only is it huge and fully fenced, it caters for a wide range of ages. From your littlest ones in the expression swing (parent and child), to the toddlers in the sand pit, right to the bigger kids hanging on with all their might on the flying fox and giant bird nest swing and not to forget, the dancing snake.
Mamma’s kids just adore the biggest and brightest feature ... the triple layered slide. Access is via the internal trunk - a tunnel shaped net with alternating rubber platforms that takes the kids securely to the top. Little kids may need some help, although on our first visit our nearly 4 year old aced it on the first try. There is no need to panic while the kids are waiting for their turn up the top, it’s fully secure up there.
There is so much on offer at this playground, the kids will bounce from one area to another just to make sure they don’t miss anything. Look out for trampolines, water pump and some creek play, a digger in the sandpit and sand building stations, a pole forest, ropes to help climb alongside the steep slides, bbqs, a lake with walking path and fitness equipment next door. Plus there are toilets here!
