surrey park playground, box hill
/Ships a’hoy! There is something very nautical about Surrey Park in Box Hill. The play equipment itself is a huge wooden ship, with tunnels, sides, a mast, clock and climbing walls. If it really was on the water, it would be heading straight towards shore, marked by another play feature, the lighthouse. You’ll find lots of musical features here and space underneath to play. It’s a wonderful vantage spot too, for looking at possibly the scariest looking slide in Whitehorse! This shiny, yellow twister is enough to make Mamma’s tummy flip, but the kids love it! Once you have had a great play head to the site of the old Surrey Dive, a huge hole in the ground where swimmers liked to show off their skills way back when. These days it is home to model sail boats and plenty of ducks.
Mamma's special mention: This park is great for a picnic or a BBQ. There’s toilets, tables, plenty of shady parts and parking away from the main roads.
