dandenong park, dandenong

Most mammas will agree, the holy grail of all playgrounds is one that is fully fenced - and Dandenong Park Playground is one that DELIVERS. With a 15 month old who despises the pram now that he has the new found freedom of walking, this Mamma breathed a sigh of relief knowing those little legs could not escape the confines of the play area.

This playground has all the classics including slides, spinners, nest swing and climbing net set amongst quaint and tranquil grounds that make you forget you are on a high traffic road. The main drawcards for this playground however, are the observation deck AND small water play area that Miss 4 literally has to be dragged away from! With a tap and channel that directs the water into the surrounding sandpit, she could spend hours here creating and destroying paths for the water to follow.

New welcomed additions to the playground are the large shade cloths that cover most of the main play areas, offering much needed relief from what used to be an overwhelmingly hot space on sunny days.

There is a good amount of off-street parking, toilets and bbq facilities just outside the fenced play space so it’s easy to crank up the barbie while the kids run off some of that pent up energy in the playground.

the nitty gritty
