belsay reserve chirnside urban park playground, chirnside park
/Ladies and Gentlemen - the hot air balloons are ready to fly!
Belsay Reserve Chrinside Urban Park Playground (now that is a mouthful) is open and ready for adventure. This playground is one of a kind. You really can not miss these giant balloons and makes a beautiful connection to the hot air giants we see early in the morning over the valley.
The balloons themselves are a climbing labyrinth. Once the kids make their way up the main stem, they are fully enclosed within the sphere and the ropes inside criss-cross, allowing the little adventurers to make their way to the top (again - everything is very well contained!). Access to the balloons is what Mamma would call child-sized - a tight squeeze if you need to rescue a scared preschooler.
Other highlights include the in-built trampolines, accessible spinning roundabout, swings, a huge flying fox run, a rain cloud water feature, lots of puzzle games, musical toys and … toilets! Picnic tables are under cover and there is a double BBQ in the middle.
This is a great play space for a whole range of ages and we can see this being a wonderful community space for years to come.
