winter school holidays in whitehorse

Beat school holiday boredom with fun activities from Whitehorse’s Winter School Holiday Program. There’s plenty of entertaining and affordable experiences for the kids to discover. Whether their passion is sport, arts, environmental, history or something the whole family can enjoy together!

Mamma has checked through the program and has made a short list of her top picks:

  • Strathdon House and Orchard Precinct art classes and workshops including DIY shopping bags, bees wax food wraps, embroidery, animal pompoms and cooking classes! There are heaps to chose from.

  • Family Science Show! Dive into a world of interactive experiments and exciting discoveries, where learning meets fun for primary school kids. Wednesday 3 July, 1.30pm – 2.15pm at Box Hill Community Arts Centre. $10 tickets

  • Or make it a full day of fun with All Day Art Day – Mad Science Mayhem. Enjoy a full day of fun with a science show and workshop, car building, and watercolour & wax painting. Interactive activities and learning await!

  • FREE Teddy bears at Schwerkolt Cottage. Craft your own origami chatterbox and go on a teddy bear hunt around the Cottage and Museum. Bring your bear friend for a park adventure! 6, 7, 13, & 14, July, 1pm - 4pm

  • FREE Whitehorse Wildlife Explorers. Discover what is hiding at Blackburn Lake Sanctuary using the Agents of Discovery app. It's like Pokemon Go, but for the bush!

  • Make a splash at Aqualink. The Chillzone will be up and running with inflatables and Tarzan ropes at both Nunawading (plus there is always the splash pad for the younger kids at Box Hill or the diving boards for the brave!)

  • The ever popular Box Hill Community Arts Centre classes and workshops are BACK! Jump online to book a session.

  • There is a bunch of great hall hire options at Sportlink and Aqualink (all locations) to try your hand at netball, basketball and table tennis.
