zero mode, box hill
/Well this place is super fun! Welcome to Zero Mode, an Asia fusion restaurant found under The Chen Melbourne hotel. This popular little spot (yes - book ahead if you want to secure a table) is full of great food experiences.
You can start with the drinks menu and if you are dining with kids, you can’t go past the iced pana cotta drinks that have a teddy bear as the hero! Watch the little guy float as your pour your milky concoction over the top! Then, tantalise your tastebuds with a range of incredible dishes from the food menu. The kids menu is limited to a burger and chips, but this means you can try some other bite sized options from the bao bun menu or size up and share a poké bowl.
Finally (if you have left room, of course) you have got to try some of their signature desserts. The cream cake is a masterpiece. The drama that happens when you pull the plastic casing up, allowing the topping to cascade down the sides, is such fun, and a little messy.
Mamma's special mention: Once you have had your fill - and depending if you have enough time on your parking ticket - you HAVE to head across the road, behind the golden building and have a play at Box Hill Gardens Playground.
