Stranger Coffeehouse and Kitchen is a brand new cafe and has opened its doors on Whitehorse Road in Balwyn. This isn’t your classic new cafe though - this is a fully restored 100 year old building brought back to life with some tender loving care.
The team here at Stranger are pulling out all the stops. The food is impeccable and Mamma says the Benny is one of the best, with an amazing balance of peppery heat, perfectly poached eggs and all on a delicious hash brown!
The coffee is just as good and if you are a fan of a little extra something, you HAVE to try a New Orleans version. It’s got extra spices with gingerbread and vanilla tones. It’s a little like a dirty chai and it’s Mamma’s new fave.
The crew here are super attentive and know how to provide wonderful service. The kids menu has a great variety and there are highchairs available for those with little legs. With a playground next door, this is bound to be a perfect spot for some future baby chino dates and a play.
Mamma can’t wait to see this venue flourish!

Mamma's special mention: There are plenty of parking spots beside the cafe on Cherry Road. Also very handy as there is also a playground and outdoor rec area here too at Balwyn Park.
