payne's rise, seville

When heading out through the Yarra Valley you can’t not stop at a winery! Kid friendly and stacked with heritage is what you will find as you head up the hill to Payne’s Rise. This historical property is the site of the first settler of the region Thomas Payne and his modest home is still standing and open for exploring today. Mamma loves a bit of a history lesson while sipping on a glass of white.

Tim and Narelle, the owners and operators of the winery have done an amazing job with paying homage to the property, whilst making the most of the view! Serving pizzas and platters on weekends, you are encouraged to choose any spot to dine, weather inside cozy by the fire, or out on a picnic rug on lawn. The kids are kept entertained too with the giant jenga set or KLOP. Perfect also for the warmer weather when you need some cozy grass for those crawlers.

Mamma's special mention: The winery hosts live music on weekends as well as participating in Yarra Valley events such as Shedfest and The Shortest Lunch. Oh and Mamma says they also host a damn fine wedding!
