Having lunch in an old garage is pretty special. The big fold up doors give the space a huge burst of character right from the get go. The cafe has indoor and some street side dining, as well as a fully operational ‘walk through’ coffee window, which has been a blessing during the months of restricted dining. Inside is beautiful, with exposed brick finishes, wooden furnishings and a great touch of rustic style. The food is delicious and very flexible. They operate on a ‘Modular Menu’ and all items can be adapted to be fully plant based at request. The Old Garage is a lovely addition to Glen Iris Road and the Boroondara community. You can’t miss it with the stunning mural along the side wall.
Mamma's special mention: A great playground to explore near by is Ferndale Park, just down the road (a ‘good’ walking distance from the cafe).
