maria, upwey
/There is a lot to love about a cafe that is named after a much loved Grandmother. Maria is a well loved fixture in Upwey’s Main Street and Mamma loves it just as much. The cafe is the sister to the much loved Lorna in Ferntree Gully and is a perfect match. The space is light and airy with a number of dining spaces, from the curbside tables, to the benches for a quick coffee, the communal table up the stairs in the middle or the classic dining room in the rear.
Food is fresh and delicious with Mexican inspired dishes throughout, including on the kids menu. Mamma had major food envy over the Croquettes Benedict but can also recommend the Avocado (a great twist on a classic) and the churros waffle. There are high chairs for the kids and the babycinos are fully charged with extra toppings. Deliciosa!
Mamma's special mention: There is a nice little street park a couple of doors up that is great for a little run around.
