We LOVE finding sweet treats that are a little more special than usual. Kōri Ice Cream on Glenferrie Road in Hawthorn fits this one to a tee!
The ice cream here is Japanese inspired but imagined and created right here in Melbourne. The shop is super sleek, right down to the finer details. The cones fit in right along the counter, the lids to the cabinets are motorised and make a sound like a space ship when they close AND every scoop is perfectly round.
The flavours - both dairy and plant based options - are super cool. We went for the Yuzu, the Strawberry Sudachi (a Japanese lime) and the Lychee in the sorbet range. Next time, we might have to try the Sweet Corn or the White Sesame in the ice cream options. The flavours here are subtle and not overwhelming on the sugar scale (just ignore the fancy cone from the Christmas range for a second!).
There are a few seats inside OR you could enjoy your ice-cream as you walk down to Grace Park behind the Glenferrie Oval.
