baked wonder, burwood

You had Mamma at croissant. You had the whole tribe when you said pink croissants, with giant bubbles and a rooftop to explore!

Baked Wonder is a beautiful sky-high bakery, making itself at home amongst the urban garden at Burwood Brickworks. The glasshouse is a showcase of incredible pastries, of both sweet and savoury persuasion. The signature flavour here - which naturally matches the uniforms and decor - is the Berry Cream. The soft creamy filling is a perfect balance with the flaky, battery croissant pastry.

Mamma’s close second pick is a total tie between the Carrot-Ssont (half croissant and half carrot cake with that iconic cream cheese frosting) and the savoury-yet-still-sweet Onion, Beet and Feta.

The cafe is predominately take-away with only a few tables undercover on the terrace. But you can always stroll and nibble while exploring the garden. You might even find a hidden hopscotch in the back corner!

Mamma's special mention: Another great place nearby to take the snacks to, is the Village Green - a cool playground in the theme of the old Brickworks.
