This long standing local gem has undergone a serious glow up! The Auburn Hotel has renovated the old motor garage next door, turning the space into a delightful atrium style Pavilion and adjoining beer garden. And they’ve really ticked the family-friendly box with a multi-level playground so parents can sit back and enjoy a sunny afternoon while the kiddos run wild.
The Pavilion is light and airy and features a retractable roof (because Melbourne weather will always do its thing), a fireplace, bar, and a pizza oven where you can see some pretty impressive dough slinging. Whether you’re after shared plates, or more of your pub faves, Auburn Hotel has got you covered. The kids menu is a mini-feast of classics too – pizza, pasta, chips, cheeseburgers – the gang's all here, and they've got the kiddos' seal of approval. Special mention to the ice cream sandwiches - what a treat!
Now, let's talk family fun; the beer garden is where you can park yourself under an umbrella, and let the little ones loose in the enclosed playground. And, if you can make it on a Sunday, the kids might even find themselves nursing some cute furry or feathery friends too, thanks to the free petting zoo (Sundays from 12:30pm- 3:30pm).
