railway station park, healesville

Who doesn’t like a themed park? And what theme would you have for a park that is out the front of a classic old train station? Oh you are very clever! Of course - a train park! Mamma might have been even more excited to see this super cool playground looks like it was designed just for little ones! A playspace that is in perfect condition, that has great easy stairs to climb and is full of train themed equipment, is a total winner in Mamma’s book. There is a couple of slides to test out, a train tunnel to crawl through, a station clock to set the time on, as well as your classic equipment to climb, swing, balance and weave your way through.

Beside the playground is the Labyrinth Garden. This would be a cool place to explore with some older children. Look for the great suggestions on the signage such as following the patterns, looking for the different designs and watching how the sun hits the space at different times of the day.

Mamma’s special mention’s: Sun can be an issue on your warmer days with limited shade over the park, so be sure to pack your hats. The Yarra Valley Railway runs historic train rides through the Valley on Sundays, Public Holidays and Wednesdays during school holidays. Click here for more information.
