This is a hidden gem in the Maroondah area. Federation Estate is the original site of Ringwood Primary School. A gorgeous school old building that has been incorporated into the new community centre. Called ‘Amazing Space’ the area is a sensory playground woven into the pristine gardens. Noisy, music making toys, spinning things (I am sure they have a name), a boat structure, secret pathways, sandpit in a curved design as well as beautiful art work are hidden throughout the space. There are lots of things to explore, touch and smell (the garden is amazing). We also explored inside to the inner courtyard with heaps of secured space that bubs had fun running through and chasing leaves, smelling flowers and stomping on the bricks.
Mamma's special mention: Drop into the centre itself and visit the Estate cafe for a cuppa and a babycino. Also take a stroll through the Maroondah Art Gallery.
